Many years ago I was living on next month's paycheck, living
from payday to payday; always wishing that my debts would mysteriously
disappear, because if they did I could live comfortably on my
current income. And then in September, 1984 I quit my job of thirteen
years. I was thirty-seven and a half years old. I did not get
along with my boss. I was afraid that in two and a half years
I would be a bitter old man at age forty. I didn't want that.
I knew that my boss wasn't going to quit, so I did. I told him
that I would rather live in a tent and pump gas than work for
him any longer. I meant it, too, although I knew that would not
be necessary.
So I quit with my profit sharing and three months severance pay
out of which I had conned my boss by telling him that I would
not quit until I had another job. I had all that cash and was
looking for a short term investment when I realized that the highest
yield investment would be to pay off all of my debts, which I
did. I lived comfortably for seven months before I had to find
work again.
Since then I have not had a permanent, full time job. Whenever
my finances began looking rather grim temporary work always seemed
to show up and I could always catch up on all my bills and pay
them off completely. Although I do admit that I was disappointed
that every time I cast myself upon the waters of the Universe,
they tossed me back up on the shores of insurance. But I concentrated
on my Spiritual growth, even to the point of telling my prospective
insurance employers EXACTLY why I was not interested in full time
work.
For a few years I worked about half of the time and played the
other half. I felt powerful in doing what I was doing. At times
I wanted to take all of my cash and spend it on something I didn't
need or to give it away just to stretch myself to see where the
money I needed would come from, for I KNEW that I would be taken
care of. I knew that I was following my path of Spiritual unfoldment
and the Universe would ALWAYS support me in that endeavor, even
if I didn't like some of the opportunities for money and turned
them down. I knew that there would always be more.
I also knew that I was the Universe and that I would take care
of myself. I knew that the Universe wasn't "out there"
someplace but rather right here inside me. I am the Universe and
will always take care of myself. Every time I ask it shall be
given. Turning down one opportunity merely brings up another.
There is no judgment in the Universe that is inside me and is
me. I will ALWAYS be given all that I need or want and more, as
much as I am able to receive.
As Mind or Spirit we exist on all seven levels of existence at
once, simultaneously. We could look at our Consciousness as a
seven story office building. On the first floor, in our conscious
minds, we think this is all there is, for the ceiling is painted
with one way paint. We think that we have to take the orders in
, make the goods, ship them out, send out the billing, hire the
help, make the plans, etc., even though we haven't the slightest
clue how all of this is getting done. But we still think that
we are doing it all!
On the second floor we are aware of ourselves on this floor and
the first floor below us, since we can see through the paint on
the first floor ceiling but cannot see through the paint on the
second floor ceiling. On this level we have a broader perspective.
On the third level we are aware of ourselves on this floor and
on the two levels below us. And so on. Because of the one way
paint, on each level we are aware of ourselves on that level and
on all of the floors below us. On the seventh floor, which houses
the corporate offices and the Board of Directors and from which
all planning is done, we are aware of our total selves and see
all that we are and all that we are doing.
So, when our consciousness is focused on the first floor, it is
important to remember that we are not alone in our endeavors.
We have vast resources within us helping us, guiding us and caring
and providing for us at all times. It is these inner levels which
are part of the total Universe and provides us with unlimited
opportunities AT ALL TIMES. We are these levels, also.
They are part of our total being.
The first floor is just the reception area where we meet the general
public. The second floor takes the orders in and processes them.
The third floor makes the goods. The fourth floor orders the component
parts and raw materials. The fifth floor is payroll and accounting.
The sixth floor is the Department of personnel and human (and
not so human) resources. The seventh floor, of course, is our
High Self and is the Board of Directors and is the level from
which all long term planning is done.
If we wanted to show the relative importance of each of the different
levels, we could imagine an inverted equilateral triangle. Take
the triangle and set it upright on its tip. Now draw six horizontal
lines equidistant from each other, dividing the triangle into
seven components. The area in the bottom most component represents
the relative importance of our Conscious Minds and Human personalities.
The rest of the triangle represents us and our true Spiritual
essence which permeates this physical reality but of which we
are not generally consciously aware.
So, there is much more to us than meets the eye, the physical
eye at least. Depend on this "other" reality, count
on it, for it is us and we are there for us at all times. There
is no judgment on these inner levels. There is only unconditional
love, acceptance and support.
We are the Universe. We are the movers and shakers. It is we who
make it happen. It is not someone or some thing out there. It
is we who make it fall into place by our actions or inactions.
The movement of our energy is what draws things to us. If we take
no action, we create no gravitational pull.
Many of us are waiting for a sign, for something to happen to
tell us what to do. There are no more signs. It is time to realize
that we are it. What happens is what we make happen. This is a
time of great creativity. SO DO SOMETHING. Do what it is that
you want to do. In doing so you create your life. There are no
wrong decisions. In doing what it is that you feel like doing
in the moment instead of what you think you should be doing you
are creating the New Age.
The New Age isn't just a catch phrase. It is a Heaven here on
Earth in which we respect the Earth and work in harmony with the
Mother; in which we respect and live in harmony with each other;
and in which we come to realize and know that we are God, individualized
essences of All That Is.
