A PARADIGM OF SPIRIT

We are not the bodies which we inhabit. Rather, we are the motivating force within the body. This is called Mind (or Spirit or Soul). We do not have a Spirit. We are Spirit and we have a body.

Mind just is. But as Human Beings we like to measure, describe and categorize things, so we have divided Mind or Spirit into three components: Superconscious, Subconscious, and Conscious. Mind is further divided into seven levels: two in the Superconscious, four in the Subconscious and one in the Conscious.

Starting in the Superconscious, the first level is that part of us which was made in the image and likeness of God. This is our true essence. This is variously referred to as our Godhead, the High Self, the I AM, our link with the Creator, or the Christ Consciousness. This level starts as the unactualized potential of All That Is. It contains the seed idea of what we want to experience and become to attain perfection and be compatible once more with the Totality of God. This is the blueprint from which all of our lives, physical and Spiritual, are created.

Closely connected to this is the second level, or the causal level. This level works with the first to set up for us that which we need to experience to gain the needed understandings (our purpose) in each life. Karma, the Law of Balance or Cause and Effect, works with this second level so that we can reap the effects of deeds done in prior lifetimes. Few individuals ever attain conscious awareness of the Superconscious levels. To keep the inadvertent mind traveler or meditator from accidentally reaching these levels, the Dome separates the Superconscious from the Subconscious.

The Subconscious is that part of Mind which we take with us from one lifetime to the next. The Subconscious part of Mind is analogous to the Christian concept of the Soul. Properties of the Subconscious are total honesty, non-judgmental knowledge, and intuition. The purpose of the Subconscious Mind is twofold: to store complete understandings and provide to the Conscious Mind anything it desires. The Subconscious is divided into four levels: the Mental, the Astral, the Intuitive, and the Emotional. These levels were developed as Spirit outthrust Itself from the God Level so we could experience on these levels.

On the Mental Level, energy first takes form as individualized thought. This is the first step of our individualization as separate from All That Is or Oneness. This is the level of abstract thought, ideas and concepts. Thought, then, will take on form as it travels outward through the denser levels of Mind until it expresses as object reality on the Conscious, or physical, Level. Thought is shaped by the quality of our consciousness and our outgrowth of knowledge on each level through which it passes. Our object reality is truly an outpicturing of our inner state of awareness. Do not, however, make the mistake of judging where you or another are at by looking at the outer reality, but merely use it as feedback to see if this is where you want to be. If it isn't, change your thinking.

The Astral Level is that level on which we make contact with entities other than ourselves. This includes, but is not limited to, our Spirit Guides (Guardian Angels), other angelic beings, Saints, Masters and other evolved entities, and those other Spirit essences now in bodily form on other planets whom we call Extraterrestrials, or Space Brothers. Universal knowledge, books of records, the Akasha, etc are contacted through this level.

This is also the level on which we travel to other dimensions, realms and worlds in the form of astral travel. Our Astral Body is not limited by and to our physical body and often travels to other realities, including other physical places on the earth plane, while our Conscious Minds and physical bodies sleep. Some people are able to do this at will in the waking state. This is accomplished by placing our consciousness in our Astral Body.

The Intuitive Level is the level upon which our completely understood experiences are stored as well as memories of past lives. This is the level of concrete and practical thought, ideas and concepts. This is the place of solutions and inspiration. Our conscious intuition and insight come from this level. The physical body's autonomic nervous system, which regulates the heart and respiration as well as all other automatic bodily functions including healing, is governed from this level.

The truth which we have gained in all of our earthly sojourns is stored here and is available to access by the Conscious Mind. This level also works with the Conscious Mind to understand experiences or problems and situations in our lives. This is the part of Mind that works with us when we "sleep on it". This is also the place in us which takes in information from our experiences when the Conscious Mind is too overcome by anger, pride or some other awareness diffusing situation and gives back to us the truth from the experience.

The Emotional Level is that level which adds the quality of emotion to the energy of our awarenesses. Emotions do two things: they add pure, raw energy to our experiences and the awarenesses of those experiences; and they get this energy out of us to express on the physical level. The word emotion comes from the Latin word "emovo", which means "to move out of". Since the Emotional Level is the last of the Subconscious levels through which energy in the form of thought travels before it manifests on the physical plane, we can speed up the manifestation of our desires by adding the energy of emotion to them, helping them to burst into physical reality.

A friend of mine gave me the only definition of feeling and emotion which I ever believed had any validity. A feeling is an awareness and emotion is the quality of energy generated by that awareness. We are told to trust our emotions. But what is meant is that we should look beyond the emotion to the awareness which caused the emotion. Therein lies the truth in the situation, having come from the intuitive level, which knows only truth.

Separating the Subconscious and the Conscious Minds is the Veil. This filters out most of our subconscious experiences and information from our conscious awareness. Dreams are the main everyday communication through the Veil, although these all too quickly fade away. The Veil serves a twofold purpose. Our Conscious Minds would be overwhelmed to the point of non existence if there were no Veil to keep the Conscious Mind separate and intact. If we had total access to our Subconscious information we would spend too little time in the physical realm experiencing on this level, which is the purpose of our physical lives. As one attains Spiritually over many lifetimes, the Veil gradually becomes thinner allowing greater access to the knowledge and wisdom stored within.

The Conscious Mind is the outermost and densest level of Mind, that part of Mind we use in our everyday waking life. The Conscious Mind uses the brain to store information and to act as its computer. Indeed, each level of mind has its own brain to work with as well as its own body. The purpose of the Conscious Mind is to make decisions (choices) and to provide understood experiences for the Subconscious Mind. Properties of the Conscious Mind are Logic, Reasoning and Will. Will is the mental power that activates all our abilities. It is the ability to make decisions. Any time we make a decision, we exercise our Will.

The Conscious Mind is the seat of desire. While there is desire, there will be a Conscious Mind, although this is left behind at withdrawal from the physical, or death. The Conscious Mind makes decisions and the Subconscious Mind supports those decisions. There are no right or wrong decisions. The error is to not make a decision. Each decision provides another opportunity to learn from a new experience.

The Conscious Mind experiences on the physical level using Logic, Reasoning and Will. An experience must be understood by the Conscious Mind before it can be stored in the Subconscious. An example of a complete understanding is the experience and realization that if we treat others with equality and respect, they will treat us in a like manner. A complete understanding becomes a part of us and in subsequent lifetimes can come to us as an intuitive understanding; something that we just know. This is whence comes the unexpected wisdom of young children.

A part of the Conscious Mind which is often confused with the Subconscious is the Unconscious part of the Conscious Mind. This is the place in which are stored all fears, doubts, misunderstandings and incomplete understandings.

The Superconscious knows why we chose this particular vehicle for this lifetime and and what it is we want to learn in this lifetime. It sets up the basic parameters of what we will experience. This should not be confused with predestination, which precludes Free Will. Once the framework is established, we can build our life's picture any way we choose. As we decide what we wish to work on in each lifetime, we choose the place, time, and the circumstances of our birth. We also choose our names and our parents. We then pick the particular genes, chromosomes and body habitus that we desire. The form and shape the body takes after birth is based on our thoughts, attitudes, and our sense of identity. We are what we think.

Lifelong urgings, desires, and recurrent themes come to us from the Superconscious Mind and are generally consistent with or related to our purpose in this life. Experiences which happen to us again and again should not be avoided but rather confronted and understood for they will reoccur until we have done so and placed the understanding in our Subconscious Mind. Once placed there, they are ours forever and can never be lost. Perhaps you have heard the folk saying that you cannot lose what is truly yours.

All Levels have Free Will. Therefore, nothing that happens to us is an accident. We cause all things by our attitudes, desires, beliefs, decisions and Karmic influences, although less than five percent of what happens to us is Karmic in origin. This means that we are responsible for ourselves. Since each and everyone of us is responsible for all that happens to us, then each of us is responsible only for him/herself, as well as only to him/herself.

The Subconscious Mind is the repository of our creative ability. Remember, its purpose is to provide for the Conscious Mind anything it desires. There is a circular exchange of energy between the Subconscious and Conscious Minds. The Subconscious gives to the Conscious Mind that which it desires in the form of material possessions or experiences. The Conscious Mind takes this, experiences it, and returns to the Subconscious a completely understood experience. An experience of which we only understand a part completely, even if we don't understand the whole experience, is stored here. If we understand the experience incompletely or erroneously it is stored in the Unconscious.

As pure Mind or Spirit we are neither male nor female but are a combination of both. Just as when you take the two gases Hydrogen and Oxygen and combine them you get water (H2O), not a gas at all; when you combine male and female you get Spirit--an intermingling of all the qualities we ascribe to male and female, not half male and half female.
When we incarn as either male or female we pull down from our Subconscious Mind those qualities and energies which coincide with the gender of our body. Left in our Subconscious Minds are the qualities and energies of the other gender. These other qualities are available to us at all times. It is merely the physical body and Conscious Mind which have a gender identity. No human is a polar male or female. Each of us on the physical level is composed of male and female qualities on a sliding scale. We are 80/20 male or 70/30 female, or some such ratio.

Now you can see that with the male and female energies reposited in either the Conscious or Subconscious Minds how creativity works. It is the male and female energies working in harmony (us in completion or wholeness) which bring into physical reality our hopes and desires, (and our fears, which are negative desires.)

Thought is energy in the process of expressing itself. Directed thought is the most powerful force in the universe. When you focus all your thought, all your desire, all your emotion and all your action on one result, nothing is beyond your grasp. If you are consciously aware of who you are and what you are doing and the effect you are having on other people and events, you can create much positive change in your life and on this planet. One aware being is more powerful than one thousand sleeping giants.

Energy comes into us from the Ether through the first level of Mind. Energy is always coming into us and working out to the seventh (Conscious or physical) level. ALL energy will express on the physical level in some form or another. This is extremely important, as we will see later.

The Conscious Mind first places a desire in the Mental Level of Mind. This desire, in the form of a thought, begins to move outward in Mind toward the physical level, taking on the quality of each level through which it passes, constantly becoming clearer by the refined desire of the Conscious Mind. Thus your desires, attitudes, fears, doubts, and expectations shape and direct the energy as it passes through the various levels of Mind.

Therefore it is essential to keep your thoughts as positive as you can, as your thoughts will manifest on the physical with the same quality of energy which you give to them on the Subconscious levels. The Law of Expectation states that you get what you expect. Thus, if you expect good things to happen, if you expect pleasant experiences to come your way, if you expect to receive those things you want to have, you will have them. Your expectations shape your energy as it travels outward through you.

The last level through which the desire goes before it is manifested on the physical is the Emotional level. This level has a tremendous amount of pure energy. This level is also contiguous to the Conscious level. That is why our emotions are very powerful in the manifestation of our desires. By exciting our Emotional Body, we truly can have anything we want. Emotional energy is just that, energy. It is our Conscious mind which judges and says this feels pleasant or unpleasant, good or bad. The Emotional Body, when excited, pours energy into the Conscious Mind. It is up to us to use this energy constructively and without judgment.

As we can see, the emotional energy moves our thoughts out of Subconscious Mind into the physical level. If we attach strong feelings to our desires, we can manifest them very quickly. This is why we often attract to us what we most fear, because of all the emotional energy we give to it: you are where your attention is. So, if you place your attention on good thoughts, that is what you will get.

The Law of Attraction states that like energies attract. People of similar attitudes and qualities are drawn to each other. The Subconscious Mind uses the Law of Attraction during the creative process to attract to us the experiences, people, and objects which we desire.

The Law of Cause and Effect states that for every cause you create, you must also experience the effect, thus creating a balance. Cause is a thought and effect is its physical manifestation. The thought or desire we place in the Mental Level is the cause and the effect of that is what manifests on the physical. Since our thoughts are things we must always strive to keep them positive and banish doubt from our Minds. For the Subconscious does not discriminate and will give us anything we place in the Mental Level, be it heaven or hell.

As Mind or Spirit we exist on all seven levels of existence at once, simultaneously. Let us look at our Consciousness as a seven story office building. On the first floor, in our Conscious Minds, we think this is all there is, for the ceiling is painted with one way paint. We think that we have to take the orders in , make the goods, ship them out, send out the billing, hire the help, make the plans, etc., even though we haven't the slightest clue how all of this is getting done. But we still think that we are doing it all!

On the second floor we are aware of ourselves on this floor and the first floor below us, since we can see through the paint on the first floor ceiling but cannot see through the paint on the second floor ceiling. On this level we have a broader perspective. On the third level we are aware of ourselves on this floor and on the two levels below us. And so on. Because of the one way paint, on each level we are aware of ourselves on that level and on all of the floors below us. On the seventh floor, which houses the corporate offices and the Board of Directors and from which all planning is done, we are aware of our total selves and see all that we are and all that we are doing.

So, when our consciousness is focused on the first floor, it is important to remember that we are not alone in our endeavors. We have vast resources within us helping us, guiding us and caring and providing for us at all times. It is these inner levels which are part of the total Universe and provides us with unlimited opportunities AT ALL TIMES. We are these levels, also. They are part of our total being.

The first floor is just the reception area where we meet the general public. The second floor takes the orders in and processes them. The third floor makes the goods. The fourth floor orders the component parts and raw materials. The fifth floor is payroll and accounting. The sixth floor is the Department of personnel and human (and not so human) resources. The seventh floor, of course, is our High Self and is the Board of Directors and is the level from which all long term planning is done.

If we wanted to show the relative importance of each of the different levels, we could imagine an inverted equilateral triangle. Take the triangle and set it upright on its tip. Now draw six horizontal lines equidistant from each other, dividing the triangle into seven components. The area in the bottom most component represents the relative importance of our Conscious Minds and Human personalities. The rest of the triangle represents us and our true Spiritual essence which permeates this physical reality but of which we are not generally consciously aware.

So, there is much more to us than meets the eye, the physical eye at least. Depend on this "other" reality, count on it, for it is us and we are there for us at all times. There is no judgment on these inner levels. There is only unconditional love, acceptance and support.

So who are we? I have probably asked that question in every psychic reading I have ever gotten. We each have our own personal answer to that question, but there are some common threads which are true for all of us.

We are Spiritual beings who have always existed and always will exist. We are immortal and have no beginning and cannot die. We inhabit these fleshly bodies for the purpose of experiencing life in the physical plane. The memory of our true Self has been withheld from our Conscious Mind so we could learn new ways to gain experience and understanding.

The purpose of life is to experience what our Inner Self creates for us as dictated by our Conscious Personality. Perhaps the philosophers who said the meaning of life is that there is no meaning to life were exactly correct. Maybe life is just to be lived, with no judgment as to whether it is good or bad, or what should or should not be done. Nor can we judge what someone else should do. We each are here to express our own individualized essence of God. We are here to be all that we are. To do that we must take chances. We must dare to be wrong. We must dare to DO. There are no wrong choices, only choices not made.

We are NOT Spirit and matter. We are Spirit IN matter. Matter is an outthrusting of Spiritual energy into a denser level of existence. EVERYTHING on this level is Spirit disguised as matter. All of the Spiritual Laws apply on this physical plane because this IS the Spiritual plane.

What we want to accomplish is to integrate Spirit into our physical lives so we do not have to picture everything in infinite detail. We do not have to tax the Conscious Mind that much. Merely create an attitude in ourself of love, prosperity, happiness and whatever else we want. Then allow the Spiritual energies to conform to our thoughts. We must create a fertile environment within ourselves for the good things in life to manifest. God wants us to be happy and have material pleasures. Then we have more time and desire to look within ourselves and bring out our own Spiritual essence, awareness and creative expression.

Much can be and is written about a little. Think of all of the books written on the Law of Abundance and Prosperity. The law is simple: You can have anything you want. Yet we seem to need literally volumes to help us understand this simple truth. Ah! The simple truth! Oh how much is written about the simple truth to clarify it! Think how easy it would be if we could cut through all the bull and get at the meat of the matter, the simple truth. If we had that, we could do without all the reading, all the studying and all the exercises. Well, the answer is blowing in the wind. The wind is saying that the simple truth can be stated in three words. You are God. Or even in two: I AM. Try using those two words in a meditation or an affirmation and note what you feel.

Because we forgot who we were when we came into this level of existence, we set up "natural" law. These are the laws of Physics and Chemistry and the other Sciences. We created these laws to provide for our physical well being until such time as we could consciously take care of ourselves. THESE NATURAL LAWS APPLY UNTIL WE REMEMBER WHO WE ARE AND TAKE CONTROL WITH A HIGHER LEVEL OF AWARENESS.

When we reach a certain level of awareness and understanding of who we are, that we are, indeed, God, then the full force of our true Self is made manifest on the Earth plane and we perform miracles. We don't have to consciously know how to do these things. All we have to do is to know what it is we wish to accomplish and picture in Mind the end result. Energy, being intelligent in and of itself, will do the rest, conforming to our will in the pictures we create.

If you were to visualize in your Mind so strongly right now a new Rolls Royce and go out to your driveways to see it, it most probably would not be there because you are not yet at that level of understanding. But, if you structure your life as you would like to see it go, then you would see the results right away, because you ARE that strong right now. Then maybe next year you get the Rolls!
